APPROACH
I begin and end with the user in mind. What are the pain points? What does success look like? How do we measure it? What does the data tell us? How does design influence user behavior? What are the opportunities and what are the boundaries? Armed with this information, we can work together to improve anything.
My architectural background and training has been foundational to my later career in Product Design and provides me with an effective approach to problem solving. I have been trained to think conceptually and analytically and execute concepts graphically. Problem solving, beauty & function, collaboration, precision, proportion, scale, proximity, fiscal responsibility, project management, and a refined style are among the many fundamental competencies I have developed.
TEAM DYNAMIC
I have a proven track record of leading geo-distributed design teams across a suite of products, attracting and retaining a diverse range of talented designers, and guiding their career development. I find this aspect of my role to be very fulfilling and am committed to fostering a culture of growth and learning for both myself and my team. To that end, I have co-led a company-wide Design Council supporting and advocating for 40+ disparate teams of designers (~250) across the globe for the past 4 years. I am also involved in the Design Leadership Forum, a global community of design leaders sharing insights and experience openly through virtual and physical events and learning opportunities.
